The title of my book is one of the poems entitled Life Is Too Short. I added 'To Waste' to give the title a more significant meaning. People are getting killed every day at a very young age, and a fair number of people is dying of natural causes, and I am sure they have not accomplished their goals when they were killed. I have many pieces in this book, and I hope each and every piece will be comfort and enjoyment to my readers.

Our experiences in life could teach us various lessons-may it be getting out of addiction, accepting one's self, embracing one's inner child, being alone and peaceful, falling in love, getting wounded a thousand times but coming out stronger, and other messages from life's intricacies. Antoinette Calwonsen has experienced it all-sorrows and joys-and has passionately turned everything into writing. Being sick for a long time and having been diagnosed...

“Caribbean Sounds of Poetry” by Sanaa appeals to a general audience. It focuses on the vast reservoir that the Caribbean shares with other countries. It includes local poems of the United States, Jamaica, and other South Caribbean countries. One poem which I especially like is "Ode to an Autumn's Leaf."

“Sock Monkeys and Strung-Out Sluts” was written for everyone who is tired of the copycat culture so prevalent in some relationships.
It is in response to this disgusting habit of confirming to fear tactics that sock monkeys seek to expose. Only with this understanding of how to identify a sock monkey in your midst can the shakers and movers of culture move away from these types of toxic people who live scared little lives in their fearful spaces,...

The poems in this book you are about to read are factual to me, as they are fictional to others, yet all do touch realities for some. Most do hold a message for many if read properly, which is any damn way you wish. The message or moral will slap you in the face, just as I have been slapped and tortured to write of the things I do. Yet I have not suffered the hardest blow ever struck but have had but a taste of life and accepted life as it comes to...

The bulk of these poems were written while the author was in college in 1969 and 1970, shortly before he became an amateur bicycle racer and narrowly surviving a life-altering accident. If these little poems can inspire one young person to not waste him or herself, the author would consider this a success.
